In music, our class has been asked to research the history, celebrations, and traditions of Matariki.
Matariki is the Maori name for a group of stars also known as the Pleiades. There are seven stars which are often referred to the seven sisters.

There are many Maori artists out there nowadays performing Maori tradition songs or their own version of one here is an example of the artists I chose.

What inspired the artist: Stan chose to write this song to celebrate Maori language week.
What did I like about the music: I enjoyed how they treasure their country.
What did I like about the video: I like the bit where the shoot the video in different places that are important to them and how they show caring with one another.

what did I like about the music: I like the beat to the song.
what did I like about the video: i like how she gives us important messages
This is one of the messages. "we live in cities you'll never see on screen" which is like no one comes to New Zealand also saying people don't know much about New Zealand and that she felt like she been away to new york and seeing the places on every show she felt like she wanted to come back writing for us and her friends.
