Music performance

Last week on Wednesday I was joined with Lenora to perform a music task. The song we chose was city of stars from a movie named Lala land. This task was not easy at first because I was confused about the chords and playing the piano is not my first option.  Along the way Lenora and I managed to cope and eventually we finished and agreed with our playing.

During the performance we made some mistakes but that didn't stop us from carrying on. I think that practice is very important and that was something we needed to work on. I also think that we should work on our confidence it grew a bit more but in front of a crowd it fades.

But all was not bad,I was happy that I performed and did not give up. I was happy on how we worked as a team and maybe next time not to give up in practice.

Math work 2

Communicate and interpret locations and directions, using compass directions,distances and grid references. We had to be able to know the meanings of the word and how they relatable to the topic.



REFLECTION

In conclusion I think we all done a very good job on the crossword puzzle and coming up with tricky ideas that can test your knowledge. If you have time try to complete our crossword or even make your own.

Geometry topic: shapes level 3

INTRODUCTION
In math, we have been learning about Geometry

We have been given different topics to complete I have chosen to represent objects with drawings and model. This challenge allows us to use our body-kinesthetic Intelligence.

DIGITAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE

To be able to complete this task we had to learn what the difference is between 2d and 3d shapes.
We also did some challenges on khan academy.

REFLECTION

Working with Rasian and Maddy was very helpful and easy because more ideas were created. The information I got was from khan academy and help from the teacher

Music/Matariki

In music, our class has been asked to research the history, celebrations, and traditions of Matariki.

Matariki is the Maori name for a group of stars also known as the Pleiades. There are seven stars which are often referred to the seven sisters.

There are many Maori artists out there nowadays performing Maori tradition songs or their own version of one here is an example of the artists I chose.

style of music: contemporary R&B, pop music.
What inspired the artist: Stan chose to write this song to celebrate Maori language week.
What did I like about the music: I enjoyed how they treasure their country.
What did I like about the video: I like the bit where the shoot the video in different places that are important to them and how they show caring with one another.

Lorde
song: Team
style of music: art pop, electro-pop
what inspired the artist: Lorde wrote this as something to give back to her country {New Zealand}
what did I like about the music: I like the beat to the song.
what did I like about the video: i like how she gives us important messages
This is one of the messages. "we live in cities you'll never see on screen" which is like no one comes to New Zealand also saying people don't know much about New Zealand and that she felt like she been away to new york and seeing the places on every show she felt like she wanted to come back writing for us and her friends.

Maths learning reflection

in maths, our class has been asked to create a presentation including percentages fractions and decimals.
we were given choices on what to do our work on. Rasian and I chose my simple show http://www.mysimpleshow.com/.  our task was to explain what we know about PDF (percentages, Decimals, Fraction) and how they are used.

In my opinion, i found it really easy to use because things were sorted for you and it was really quick to use. Unfortunately, Rasian and I could not manage to finish off our task due to lack of time. Learning Reflection

In health, our class came up with the idea to write a class treaty.
Our class treaty was made together because not one voice can lead the class because everyone has different ideas and point of views. One of the other reasons we decided to do this was so that we can behave responsibly and get along with classmates.

our class also worked on about me cubes which share fun facts about us and what we want to become in the future. One thing that I shared was that I aim to become a lawyer. I know that if I want to achieve this I will have to focus in class and give my 100% on everything I do.
I didn't find anything that was difficult to share, I felt very open about what I was sharing.

I have also set myself some goals for 2018 and I think when your goal setting it's important for you to know its something you can achieve and it is measurable and realistic.

English

In English, I have been learning about creative writing as well as getting to know the teacher.

I was joined by three other girls, we were handed a sheet of paper where we jotted all our ideas down.
We learned a lot in this task because there were words that some of us weren't familiar with. After doing this task we had an idea about what they meant.

One task that I really enjoyed doing was when we had to write haikus, I was very relaxed and focused, this helps me to think about the words I choose and how I use them.
